A motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday in Newport Beach near John Wayne Airport.
The crash occurred at about 10:15 a.m. in the area of Irvine Avenue and Orchard Drive, said Newport Beach Police Lt. Rachel Johnson.
Paramedics rushed the motorcyclist to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries, Johnson said.
The condition of the other motorist was not immediately known, she said.
All southbound and northbound lanes of Irvine Avenue, between Bristol Street and Mesa Drive, were closed after the crash.
