The coroner’s office Sunday released the name of a motorcyclist killed at a two-vehicle crash in Newport Beach.
The motorcyclist was identified as Todd Anthony Davis, Jr., 26, of Costa Mesa, according to the coroner’s office.
It happened about 10:10 a.m. Saturday, near the intersection of Irvine Avenue and Orchard Drive, police said.
Davis, riding a Yamaha motorcycle, was heading north on Irvine Avenue while a 2015 Mazda Cx-5 was turning left onto the eastbound lanes of Orchard Drive from Irvine when the collision occurred, according to police.
The woman driving the Mazda emerged uninjured, but Davis was ejected from his bike and was mortally injured. He died about an hour later at a hospital.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
Police asked anyone with information on the crash call Newport Beach police at (949) 644-3746.
