The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped four-tenths of a cent Saturday to $3.644, the ninth consecutive decrease.

The average price has dropped 3.2 cents over the past nine days. It is 2.6 cents less than one week ago and 5.5 cents lower than one month ago, but 73.4 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

It has risen 49.4 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped seven-tenths of a cent to $3.585, the eighth decrease in the last nine days. It is 2.4 cents less than one week ago and 7 cents lower than one month ago, but 70.8 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 46.9 cents since the start of the year.

“After a two-week pause, gas prices have resumed dropping locally on news of healthy fuel supplies in California and a reduction in oil prices over the past week,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
