Walker Buehler and four Los Angeles Dodgers relievers limited the Colorado Rockies to four hits while Cody Bellinger and Max Muncy hit two-run homers in a 5-2 victory Monday in the National League West tiebreaker game at Dodger Stadium.
The victory gives the Dodgers their sixth consecutive NL West title and advances them to a best-of-five NL Divisional Series against the East Division champion Atlanta Braves that will begin Thursday at Dodger Stadium.
Buehler (8-5) allowed one hit over 6 2/3 innings, striking out three and walking three.
Bellinger hit a two-run homer in the fourth and Muncy a two-run homer in the fifth, both off Colorado starter German Marquez (14-11).
The Dodgers increased their lead to 5-0 in the sixth when Buehler singled in Kike Hernandez, who hit a ground-rule double with two outs.
Nolan Arenado homered on the first pitch from Dodgers reliever Kenley Jansen leading off the ninth. Trevor Story homered six pitches later.
Jansen then retired the next three batters to end the game.
Colorado gets the NL’s second wild-card berth and will face the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday at Wrigley Field in the wild card game, whose winner will face the Milwaukee Brewers in a divisional series that will begin Thursday in Milwaukee.
The Brewers defeated the Chicago Cubs, 3-1, in the NL Central tiebreaker earlier Monday at Wrigley Field.
