The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped one-tenth of a cent Saturday to $3.354, one day after rising one-tenth of a cent.
The average price has not changed by more than one-tenth of a cent for four consecutive days, and is one-tenth of a cent more than one week ago, 6.9 cents higher than one month ago, and 6.8 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The Orange County average price dropped two-tenths of a cent to $3.306, one day after it was unchanged at $3.308.
It is seven-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 3.6 cents more than one month ago, and 7.7 cents less than one year ago.
“The California Energy Commission reported Wednesday that Southern California gasoline supplies are now well below average levels for the past five years, but so far that news has not dramatically affected wholesale prices,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
“Oil Price Information Service analysts say the low supply level is likely due to both planned and unplanned maintenance at local refineries.”
