Naval Weapons Station security in Seal Beach surrounded a housing unit in response to a barricade situation Thursday morning.
The standoff began about 9 a.m., said Gregg Smith, a spokesman for the Naval Weapons Station.
As of 11:30 a.m., there was just one man left in the building, which includes housing, after several others came out, Smith said.
One man has been detained, Smith said.
“There’s one person inside that we’re in communication with,” Smith said. “We don’t believe he is armed or holding any hostages. The base is not in lockdown, but we have the unit surrounded.”
