A man was killed Friday morning in a single-vehicle crash on an on-ramp to the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Anaheim and three people seen running from the wrecked vehicle were being sought by authorities.

The crash was reported on the Manchester Avenue on-ramp near Katella Avenue about 12:05 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

A preliminary investigation indicated a white sedan crashed into the left shoulder of the on-ramp and sustained heavy damage. The driver of the vehicle was killed, the CHP said.

Witnesses told the CHP three people were seen running from the crashed vehicle.

The name of the victim was not disclosed.

The Manchester Avenue on-ramp to the southbound Golden State Freeway was closed until further notice.
