The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped three-tenths of a cent Monday to $3.177 after rising 11 of the previous 12 days to its highest amount since March 26.

The average price rose 5.1 cents over the previous 12 days, including one-tenth of a cent both Saturday and Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose six consecutive days before being unchanged on Tuesday.

The average price is 1 cent more than a week ago and 9 cents higher than one month ago but 51.1 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 43.8 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped three-tenths of a cent to $3.164 after rising 11 of the previous 12 days to its highest amount since March 25. It increased 5.3 cents over the previous 12 days, including one-tenth of a cent on Sunday.

The Orange County average price is eight-tenths of a cent more than a week ago and 9.3 cents higher than one month ago but 49.1 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 38.1 cents since the start of the year.
