The Coroner’s Office Sunday released the name of a 41-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash on the northbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway in Santa Ana, which also involved two other vehicles.
The biker was identified as Nicholas Wilper, according to the coroner’s office.
The agency listed no place of residence for Wilper.
The crash was reported near Main Street at 10 p.m. Friday, according to Sgt. David Rodgers of the California Highway Patrol.
Wilper was pronounced dead by Orange County Fire Authority personnel.
An investigation was underway into the cause of the crash, but Rodgers said speed was likely a factor.
It was unclear whether alcohol or drugs were also factors.
