A 72-year-old man is in an intensive care unit this evening after being stabbed multiple times in a conflict with another man at the entrance gate of Coto De Caza, a guard-gated private housing community in South Orange County.
Orange County sheriff’s deputies were called at 11:42 a.m. to Coto De Caza Drive and Antonio Parkway and took a man in his mid-20s into custody for questioning who was later arrested for suspicion of attempted murder, Sgt. Dennis Breckner said.
What prompted the stabbing was unclear, Breckner said. It was unclear whether the two knew each other, he said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he underwent surgery and was transferred to the intensive care unit, Breckner said. His vital signs were listed as stable.
The names of the suspect and victim were not available.
