A stretch of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway in the Santa Fe Springs and La Mirada areas is scheduled to be closed in both directions for three consecutive nights, starting Sunday evening, according to Caltrans.
Crews will remove a temporary frame from the Valley View Avenue Bridge during the overnight closures, according to Caltrans, which noted the schedule is subject to change.
Northbound lanes between Carmenita Road and Artesia Boulevard will close beginning at 10 p.m. Sunday, and southbound lanes will close at 11 p.m. All lanes will reopen at 5 a.m. Monday.
The northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway connector to the southbound 5 Freeway will also be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. on those days, as well as the westbound Artesia (91) Freeway connector ramp to the northbound 5.
Southbound traffic will be detoured at Carmenita Road and motorists can get back on the freeway at Artesia Boulevard, while northbound traffic will be detoured at Artesia Boulevard and motorists can get back on the freeway at Carmenita Road.
