One person was injured when a tractor-trailer overturned on a Downey freeway Thursday.

The solo-vehicle crash occurred around 10:05 a.m. on the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway connector to the northbound San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, spilling about 40 gallons of diesel fuel, according to a Downey Fire Department dispatcher.

A Caltrans crew found a semi on its side, but the injured occupant only suffered minor injuries and did not require hospitalization. It was unclear if the injured person was the driver.

The crew worked to clean up the spilled fuel, and a SigAlert was issued by the California Highway Patrol at 10:27 a.m.

Caltrans was still on scene mopping up an hour later.
