An investigation was underway Friday into the deaths of two men whose bodies were found near the Santa Ana River bottom in Jurupa Valley, where authorities also discovered an injured woman.
Riverside County sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of Crestmore Road at the Mission Inn Avenue bridge about 11:50 a.m. Thursday after receiving reports of injured and possibly trapped parties at the location.
County firefighters were also sent to render medical aid.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Ed Baeza said that after deputies arrived, they discovered the dead men, whose identities were not immediately released.
A woman, also not identified, was found suffering moderate to serious injuries at the site and was taken to Riverside Community Hospital for treatment, according to reports from the scene.
Baeza said Central Homicide Unit detectives took over the investigation, but no other details were released, including who or what caused the fatalities.
