A run of 23 increases in 24 days to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County ended Friday when it was unchanged, remaining at $4.59.

The average price rose 14.9 cents during the run, including six-tenths of a cent Thursday, to its highest amount since Oct. 17, 2012, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose 19 consecutive days, dropped three-tenths of a cent Sunday and resumed increasing Monday.

The average price is 1.5 cents more than one week ago, 16.8 cents higher than one month ago and $1.429 greater than one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped for the first time since Oct. 11, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.544. It had increased 17 of the past 20 days and was unchanged three times, rising 17.1 cents to its highest amount since Oct. 18, 2012.

The Orange County average price is 1 cent more than one week ago, 15.7 cents higher than one month ago and $1.425 greater than one year ago.
