The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped three-tenths of a cent Wednesday to $4.679, one day after decreasing four-tenths of a cent.

The average price is 1 cent less than one week ago but seven-tenths of a cent more than one month ago and $1.532 higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped 3.7 cents since hitting the record high of $4.716 on Nov. 27.

A six-day streak of decreases to the Orange County average price totaling 1.8 cents ended when it was unchanged, remaining at $4.648. It is 1.8 cents less than one week ago but 1.3 cents more than one month ago and $1.513 higher than one year ago.

The Orange County average price has dropped 4.1 cents since moving within one-tenth of a cent of equaling its record high Nov. 26.
