Cal State Northridge’s women’s basketball game at Cal State Bakersfield planned for Thursday has been canceled due to COVID-19 protocols that have put the Matadors’ program on pause, the university announced Monday.
Under the recently adjusted Big West Conference policies, the game will be declared no contest and will not be rescheduled.
CSUN (4-6) anticipates resuming play Saturday at Cal State Bakersfield in what would be its first conference game of the season.
The Matadors have not played since Dec. 21, when they defeated the University of Antelope Valley, 90-32. The Pioneers compete on the NAIA level.
CSUN home games against UC Irvine scheduled for last Thursday and UC San Diego scheduled for last Saturday were previously canceled due to COVID-19 protocols within the Matadors’ program.
