Authorities Sunday continued to investigate a fatal collision between a big rig and a 54-year-old pedestrian just north of Temecula.

It happened at 3:53 p.m. Saturday at Winchester and Murrieta Hot Springs roads in an unincorporated county area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Investigators said the driver of the big rig began making a right turn from westbound Murrieta Hot Springs Road to northbound Winchester Road on a green light when the victim stepped into the marked crosswalk on Winchester Road and was struck.

The pedestrian was knocked down by the right front end of the truck and run over by the right rear wheels, causing fatal injuries, according to the CHP.

The pedestrian, identified as Robin Kropp of Lake Forest, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Riverside County coroner’s office.

The driver of the big rig was identified as Fabian Sisneros, 44, of Selma, California.

No arrests were made, and the CHP was investing the collision.
