A semi tractor-trailer overturned Monday on a transition bridge from the Riverside (91) Freeway to the Corona (71) Expressway, prompting a full closure of the connector.
The big rig went over about noon on the transition from the westbound 91 to the northbound 71, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency said the truck did not hit any vehicles when it overturned while making the switch onto the connector, but it spilled part of its load of roofing materials.
Santa Ana winds were blowing over 30 mph at the time, but it was unclear whether the gusts precipitated the crash.
The trucker was not injured, according to the CHP.
Officers shut down the transition 15 minutes after the crash, prompting a SigAlert due to the disruption to traffic at the location.
The closure was expected to be lifted by 4 p.m.
