The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose eight-tenths of a cent Tuesday to $4.45.
The average price had dropped 42 times in 43 days, decreasing $1.106, then rose 1.5 cents Sunday and dropped two-tenths of a cent Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is two-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 68.1 cents lower than one month ago and 22.3 cents cheaper than one year ago.
The average price is $2.06 less than the record $6.494 on Oct. 5.
The Orange County average price rose seven-tenths of a cent to $4.363, its fourth consecutive increase after dropping 41 of the previous 42 days. It’s four-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, but 64.9 cents lower than one month ago and 27.6 cents cheaper than one year ago.
The Orange County average price is $2.008 less than the record $6.357 set Oct. 5.
The national average price rose two-tenths of a cent to $3.104. It is 1.9 cents less than one week ago, 45.1 cents lower than one month ago and 18.2 cents cheaper than one year ago. The national average price is $1.912 lower than the record $5.016 set June 14.
