The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Wednesday for the 53rd time in 54 days, decreasing 2.3 cents to $5.041.
The average price has dropped $1.284 over the past 54 days, including 2 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 10.4 cents less than one week ago, 54.1 cents lower than one month ago and 21.3 cents cheaper than one year ago.
The average price has dropped $1.453 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The average price dropped 43 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Nov. 12, then resumed decreasing the next day.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 22nd time in 23 days, decreasing 3.3 cents to $4.88. It has dropped 33.5 cents over the past 22 days, including 2.1 cents Tuesday.
The Orange County average price is 12.3 cents less than one week ago, 50.7 cents lower than one month ago and 26.5 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has dropped $1.579 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the 55th consecutive day, falling 1.4 cents to $3.281. It has dropped 55.4 cents over the past 55 days, including 1.3 cents Tuesday. It is 6.4 cents less than one week ago, 26.9 cents lower than one month ago and 35.5 cents cheaper than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.735 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
