The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped four-tenths of a cent Sunday to $4.807, ending a streak of 23 consecutive increases.
The average price rose 27.2 cents during the streak, including a half-cent Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 5.7 cents more than one week ago, 22.3 cents more than one month ago and nine-tenths of a cent more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.687 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped three-tenths of a cent for the second consecutive day, to $4.761. It is 4.2 cents more than one week ago and 28.8 cents more than one month ago, but two-tenths of a cent less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.698 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price declined three-tenths of a cent to $3.279. It is 9 cents more than one week ago and 18.5 cents more than one month ago, but 13.8 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.737 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
