A working smoke alarm helped people get out of a burning Main Street building in Santa Ana Monday morning and helped summon firefighters in time to limit the damage.
Firefighters responded at 3:04 a.m. to the fire in the 500 block of South Main Street, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
Firefighters put out the flames five minutes after they arrived, confining it to one business, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported.
