The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped for the fifth consecutive day Saturday, falling a half-cent to $4.607.
The average price is 2.1 cents less than one week ago, 17.5 cents less than one month ago and 52.3 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.887 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price also fell for the fifth straight day, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $4.532. It is 4.4 cents less than one week ago, 16.8 cents less than one month ago and 53.5 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.927 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“Oil Price Information Service reports that gasoline stockpiles are lower than the previous week, possibly indicating there is little room for continued price drops at the pump,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
The national average price dropped for the seventh straight day, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.478. It is 3.3 cents less than one week ago, 3.5 cents less than one month ago, and 34.3 cents less than one year ago.
