The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Saturday for the 10th time in the last 11 days, dipping two-tenths of a cent to $4.55.

The average price has dropped 6.1 cents over the past 11 days, including four-tenths of a cent on Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 3.3 cents less than one week ago, 1.2 cents less than one month ago and 91.6 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.944 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 11th consecutive day, decreasing two-tenths of a cent to $4.467. It is 4.2 cents less than one week ago, 2.7 cents less than one month ago and 81.2 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.992 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.

“We are entering the time of year when gasoline demand typically drops, and on Nov. 1, Southern California gas stations will be allowed to sell the winter-blend gasoline which is cheaper to produce and less expensive for consumers,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.

The national average price dropped for the 10th consecutive day, decreasing eight-tenths of a cent to $3.136. It is 4.7 cents less than one week ago, 8.4 cents less than a month ago and 39.5 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.88 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
