The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose 1 cent Saturday to $4.426.
The average price is 2.2 cents more than one week ago, but six-tenths of a cent less than one month ago and 33.1 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $2.068 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price rose 2.5 cents to $4.369. It is 2.9 cents more than one week ago and 1.7 cents more than one month ago, but 28.9 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.09 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“The California state gas price average for all of 2024 was $4.76 a gallon, which is the third highest annual average price ever behind the 2022 average price of $5.48 and the 2023 average of $4.95,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
“The Los Angeles annual average price for 2024 was $4.75 for regular unleaded, and in San Diego it was $4.80.”
The national average price decreased three-tenths of a cent to $3.064. It is 3.8 cents more than one week ago and 3.1 cents more than one month ago, but 2.6 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.952 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
