A motorist was fatally injured Wednesday in a collision involving a car and big rig in Highgrove.
The wreck happened at about 6 a.m. in the area of Center Street and Stephens Avenue, just off Interstate 215, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency said the vehicles impacted on Center, possibly while preparing to enter the freeway on-ramp, but the circumstances were not immediately known.
Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location within a few minutes and pronounced the driver of the car dead at the scene, according to the CHP.
The trucker was not injured.
Center was partially closed while an investigation was conducted, but the freeway was not affected.
