The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose two-tenths of a cent Thursday to $4.31, one day after dropping a half-cent to its lowest amount since Aug. 23.
The average price is eight-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and one month ago but $1.144 higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has risen $1.134 since the start of the year.
Mid-September is when “gas demand starts its seasonal decline,” according to Jeanette C. McGee, director, AAA external communications, leading to “stability at the pump.”
