Summer is coming to an end, but the summer heat is hanging around for a while.

A heat advisory issued by the National Weather Service will be in effect until 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Riverside County valleys and Inland Empire, which includes San Bernardino, Ontario, Moreno Valley, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga and Corona.

“Warm and dry weather will continue through Wednesday with temperatures well into the 90s to lower 100s in the hottest inland valleys,” according to the NWS.

Temperatures are expected to be between 95 and 105 degrees Wednesday. The high temperatures can cause heat-related illness, the National Weather Service warns.

As usual, forecasters warned residents to take precautions if they are outside in the heat, such as drinking plenty of liquids, avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun and checking on vulnerable relatives and neighbors.
