A fire that erupted Thursday in a San Jacinto mobile home caused major damage, displacing eight occupants.
The non-injury blaze was reported about 1 p.m. in the Country Lake Mobile Home Park, near Country Lake Drive and State Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered heavy smoke billowing out of the double-wide.
The occupants safely evacuated prior to crews’ arrival.
Firefighters got the blaze under control within 20 minutes, preventing the flames from spreading to adjacent properties, according to officials.
However, the residence was declared uninhabitable. Three men, three women and two girls were displaced, according to the fire department.
American Red Cross personnel were requested to help the victims find temporary alternate lodgings.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
