The number of people hospitalized with coronavirus in Riverside County dropped slightly, but other figures were unreported in the latest data update due to technical issues, Riverside University Health System officials said.
Numbers released Thursday by the RUHS showed COVID-related hospitalizations countywide were at 425, down nine from Wednesday. The number includes 125 intensive care patients, the same as Wednesday.
RUHS figures Thursday reporting confirmed cases, deaths and recoveries were not updated due to the technical issues with state data.
On Wednesday, 576 COVID new infections were confirmed, lifting the county’s overall number since the pandemic began to 351,034.
A total of 4,933 deaths from virus-related complications have been recorded in the past 18 months. The fatalities are trailing indicators because of delays processing death certificates and can go back weeks, according to health officials.
The number of known active virus cases in the county Wednesday was 5,819, down 592 from Tuesday. The active count is derived by subtracting deaths and recoveries from the current total — 351,034 — according to the county Executive Office.
Verified patient recoveries countywide were 340,282.
