Lane closures and traffic restrictions are expected across Palm Desert and Cathedral City Wednesday as Coachella Valley Water District crews perform sanitation work.
Crews will be performing the work from 12:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday across multiple intersections, according to the water utility.
The intersection of Fred Waring Drive and Monterey Avenue, the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and San Anselmo Avenue, the intersection Portola Avenue and Alessandro Drive and the intersection of Cook Street and Country Club Drive in Palm Desert will have lane closures due to maintenance during this time.
Traffic is expected to be merged into adjacent lanes not experiencing maintenance.
A southbound lane in the intersection of Date Palm Drive and Corral Road and a turning lane on Cathedral Canyon Drive will be closed down in Cathedral City during the work.
The utility said that lane closures and traffic restrictions across the two cities will be marked with cones and signs, and drivers are advised to avoid the affected areas.
Water services are not expected to be disrupted during sanitation.
The Coachella Valley Water District provides water for approximately 108,000 homes and businesses mostly in Riverside County.
