A Riverside County Department of Waste Resources truck collided with a van Wednesday in Moreno Valley, blocking lanes and prompting firefighters to request law enforcement assistance after the van driver became combative.
The crash happened at about 3:15 p.m. at the intersection of Eucalyptus Avenue and Gilman Springs Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The circumstances of the collision were not immediately known, but according to officials, both vehicles were damaged and partially blocked Gilman Springs.
No injuries were reported.
A fire captain at the scene requested law enforcement assistance when the driver of the Chevrolet cargo van allegedly became aggressive with the county truck driver and fire personnel for reasons unclear.
California Highway Patrol officers reached the location at about 3:30 p.m. and intervened.
It was unclear whether anyone was arrested.
Officers were working to move the vehicles out of the roadway as of 3:40 p.m.
