A semi-truck trailer overturned on eastbound Interstate 10 Friday, causing the Seventh Avenue off-ramp in Blythe to temporary close.

Caltrans sent an advisory at 1:30 p.m. Friday noting that the eastbound I-10 Seventh Avenue off-ramp was closed for an unknown duration due to a traffic incident.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Jeff Knutson, the truck’s trailer partially detached from the vehicle and tipped over, causing the driver to pull off of the road just before the off-ramp.

Due to only the trailer having tipped over, the driver in the cab was unharmed.

Knutson said a small brush fire was in the location of the truck but the cabin itself did not show any indication of a fire.

The cause of the trailer detaching was unknown.
