The team name for the Coachella Valley Arena’s new American Hockey League team will be unveiled early next month, officials announced Monday.

An event on Nov. 5 to announce the name and branding will be hosted by the Oak View Group, which owns the team, and the Seattle Kraken National Hockey League team at 11 a.m. at the Classic Club Golf Course Constellation Ballroom, 75-200 Classic Club Drive, in Palm Desert.

The new team will be the 32nd franchised team of the AHL and is an affiliate to the Seattle Kraken team, according to the team’s website which, at present, goes by the name AHL Palm Springs.

A short teaser, announcing the unveiling date, was posted on the Coachella Valley Arena’s Twitter page Monday. The teaser showed a fireball flying through noticeable landmarks in the Coachella Valley and ended with a screech of a bird.

According to The Desert Sun, Oak View Group filed patent requests for a number of potential names such as The Coachella Valley Firebirds, Coachella Valley Dragons, Coachella Valley Eagles and Coachella Valley Falcons.
