The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped one-tenth of a cent Sunday for the second consecutive day to $4.606.

The average price is one-tenth of a cent more than one week ago and $1.43 higher than one year ago, but 2.8 cents less than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has dropped 3.5 cents since Nov. 27, when it rose to its highest amount since Oct. 13, 2012, $4.641, because of lower demand and oil prices.

Crude oil costs account for slightly more than half of the pump price, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
