The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped a half-cent Saturday to $4.604, one day after rising four-tenths of a cent.

The average price is three-tenths of a cent less than one week ago and nine-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago but $1.397 higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped 3.7 cents since Nov. 27, when it rose to its highest amount since Oct. 13, 2012, $4.641.

The decrease was the largest since a half-cent decrease Dec. 22.
