The next phase of road work to expand the Coachella Valley Water District’s non-potable water distribution pipeline system in Palm Desert will begin Monday.
Crews will be working along Hovley Lane between Oasis Club Drive and Indian Ridge Drive from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. as a part of the utilities non-potable water pipeline system.
Additionally, crews will continue to install pipe and paving along Hovley Lane between Indian Ridge Drive and Eldorado Drive from Wednesday to March 2.
The construction is part of CVWD’s non-potable water distribution pipeline and will connect the Bermuda Dunes, Oasis, Palm Desert Resort and Woodhaven country clubs. The expansion of the pipeline will allow the soon-to-be-connected country clubs to utilize canal water and recycled water rather than groundwater for their irrigation.
Construction on the pipeline is due to move west along Hovley Lane in order to reach the utilities water reclamation facility on Cook Street by April, according to officials.
During construction periods, portions of the westbound lane will be closed. Closures will be marked and at least one lane will remain open in each direction. Drivers were encouraged to avoid the area if possible with the utility recommending the use of Fred Waring and Country Club Drives.
