An ATV rider was injured Monday when his quad overturned on a hillside just east of Moreno Valley.
The crash happened about 3 p.m. near the intersection of Alessandro Boulevard and Gilman Springs Road, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that the rider went down while engaged in recreation within the Badlands area south of the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway, where there are numerous rolling hills and few residences.
No other details were available.
Firefighters had to hike to his location to find him, which took close to an hour, according to officials.
The victim, whose identity was not released, was taken by ambulance to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment of moderate injuries.
