The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose four-tenths of a cent to a record $4.789 Sunday after back-to-back increases of more than 2 cents.
The average price has risen 24 of the past 28 days, increasing 19.6 cents, including 2.3 cents Saturday and 2.9 cents Friday, its largest increase since Feb. 25, 2021, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has set records 10 of the past 11 days.
The average price is 8.3 cents more than one week ago, 19.8 cents higher than one month ago and $1.13 greater than one year ago.
