The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Sunday for the fifth consecutive day, decreasing 1.3 cents to $5.896.
The average price has dropped 7.5 cents over the past five days, including 2.4 cents Saturday, its largest decrease since March 31, 2020, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The decreases follow a 36-day streak of increases totaling $1.266. The streak was the longest since a 55-day streak from Jan. 26 to March 21, 2021, totaling 54 cents.
The average price is 7 cents less than one week ago but 98.4 cents more than one month ago and $1.997 higher than one year ago.
