Firefighters Monday morning battled flames in heavy vegetation in unincorporated Riverside, holding the spread to 3 acres.
The fire was reported as 2 acres at 12:18 a.m. in an area east of Mount Vernon Avenue and Goodrich Drive, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
By 2:20 a.m. firefighters had stopped the forward progress of the fire and remained on scene to put out hot spots, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported.
