Another heat wave is coming to Southern California, with near-record temperatures expected early next week, forecasters said Saturday.

An excessive heat warning was issued for the downtown Riverside area, Moreno Valley, Corona, Indio, Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Palm Desert, Palm Desert Country, La Quinta and Coachella between 10 a.m. Monday through 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Temperatures are expected to range between 95 to 107 degrees in the downtown Riverside area and 110 to 117 degrees in the Coachella Valley and San Gorgonio Pass near Banning, according to the National Weather Service.

Some cooling is possible later in the week, according to forecasters.
