Palm Springs International Airport officials urged travelers to plan ahead and arrive early to catch their flights Sunday, which is expected to be the last busy day of its Thanksgiving week rush.
“With Thanksgiving around the corner, Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) is committed to ensuring travelers have a seamless and stress-free experience during the bustling holiday period,” PSP officials said in a pre-holiday statement.
More than 35,000 people were expected to depart from the airport during the travel period that began Tuesday and ends Sunday, according to airport officials. Some 7,000 people were expected to pass through the airport Wednesday and on Sunday, which were expected to be the busiest days.
With that, travelers were warned that parking options could become limited due to high demand, airport officials said. Travelers were urged to consider using a ride-sharing service to reach the airport to avoid parking.
Additionally, due to PSP undergoing a concessions refresh and ongoing construction, airport officials encouraged travelers to plan ahead for dining at the airport as some food and retail options will be affected. Grab-and-go food choices like the Half Moon Empanada Stand were available for convenience.
Due to the holiday rush, travelers were encouraged to arrive at the airport at least two hours early.
