The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County decreased Thursday for the 24th consecutive day and 38th time in 39 days, dropping three-tenths of a cent to $4.534, its lowest amount since Feb. 8.
The average price has dropped 47.2 cents over the past 39 days, including 1.4 cents Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 7.7 cents less than one week ago and 35.5 cents lower than one month ago, but 24.8 cents more than one year ago.
The average price has dropped $1.839 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The average price dropped 14 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Nov. 27 and resumed declining the following day.
The national average price of a gallon of regular gasoline rose 2.3 cents to $3.12, the third consecutive increase following an 18-day streak of decreases totaling 18.2 cents. It is 1.6 cents more than one week ago and 1.2 cents higher than one year ago but 17.5 cents less than one month ago.
The national average price has decreased $1.896 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
