Acrisure Arena will host a Military Appreciation Night next weekend when the Coachella Valley Firebirds play the Texas Stars.

The event is being sponsored by Spotlight 29 Casino, Tortoise Rock Casino and The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians, and will take place beginning at 6 p.m. March 23 at the arena located at 75700 Varner Road in Palm Desert.

A total of 150 military troops and their families will receive free tickets for the game and transportation from the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms.

Dry and canned food, diapers, baby formula and other non-perishables will be collected for the Pelican Shop at the Armed Services YMCA, a free food pantry open to all active duty families abroad.

People who donate at least $20 worth of supplies will receive $20 of Free Slot Play that may be redeemed at Spotlight 29 and Tortoise Rock, according to arena officials.

The Firebirds will be wearing military themed jerseys to be auctioned off at web.dashapp.io/team/coachellavalleyfirebirds/event/65d27e905e26f500087ba582. The first 6,500 fans in attendance will receive a military themed Firebirds bucket hat.
