The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose Saturday for the 19th consecutive day and 23rd time in the past 24 days, increasing 3 cents to $5.216, its highest amount since Oct. 31.

The average price has increased 41.4 cents over the past 24 days, including 5.9 cents Friday, its largest increase since Sept. 28, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price rose four consecutive days, dropped three-tenths of a cent March 18 and resumed increasing March 19.

The average price is 19.5 cents more than one week ago, 41.6 cents higher than one month ago and 41.2 cents greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.157 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose for the fourth consecutive day, increasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.591. It has risen 5.6 cents over the past four days, including 1.5 cents Friday, after changing by one-tenth of a cent for five consecutive days.

The national average price is 5.5 cents more than one week ago, 20.5 cents higher than one month ago and 3.8 cents greater than one year ago. It has dropped $1.425 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
