The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped a half-cent Wednesday to $5.28, one day after it decreased a half-cent.

The average price is 1.4 cents less than one week ago, but 24.1 cents more than one month ago and 45.8 cents higher than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.093 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price rose six-tenths of a cent to $3.663, a day after it dropped two-tenths of a cent. It rose two-tenths of a cent Monday and dropped two-tenths of a cent Sunday.

The national average price is three-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 12.7 cents more than one month ago and 5.3 cents higher than one year ago. It has dropped $1.353 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
