The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped for the fourth consecutive day Saturday, falling 1.2 cents to $4.536.

The average price is 2.6 cents less than one week ago, 16.5 cents less than one month ago and 47.6 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.837 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.

“Oil Price Information Service reports that gasoline stockpiles are lower than the previous week, possibly indicating there is little room for continued price drops at the pump,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.

The national average price dropped for the seventh straight day, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.478. It is 3.3 cents less than one week ago, 3.5 cents less than one month ago, and 34.3 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.538 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
