The Palm Springs Public Library and Mizell Center will co-host “Our Voices Our Stories: Celebrating Black Authors,” a joint event commemorating the beginning of Black History Month Saturday.
The 10 a.m. event will begin at the Mizell Center with a keynote speech from Jenifer Lewis, a Critics Choice-nominated actress from the series “Black-ish” and an award-winning author.
After Lewis’ words, three other featured authors — Christian Cooper, Rasheed Newson and Trisha R. Thomas — will take the stage for moderated interviews.
A hosted Creole and soul food lunch will be available for the first 100 registrants before the event continues at the nearby Palm Springs Public Library. The Best Bookstore in Palm Springs will be on-site with works from the aforementioned authors and other local writers scheduled to be in attendance.
