A registered sex offender allegedly found on a school campus was in custody Friday.
A parent reported seeing a “suspicious individual” on a Temecula school campus Tuesday at 9:15 p.m., according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department statement.
According to the department, the individual was observed to be “recording a dance performance from a distance.” A student who saw the individual noticed the person “possibly [having] explicit photos on his cell phone,” causing her to inform her parents.
After the person left campus, the Southwest Sheriff’s station school resource deputy was called. Enlisting the help of Southwest Investigations Bureau personnel, the individual was identified as 36-year-old local resident Blake Taylor White, according to the statement.
Deputies found and arrested White the following day on suspicion of being a sex registrant and trespassing on a school campus, the department reported.
Inmate records indicate White is currently being held at the Southwest Detention Center on $100,000 bail.
An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with relevant information was encouraged to contact Deputy Kevin Au at the Southwest Sheriff’s station at 951-696-3000.
